In Hydrology and in Environmental Engineering the hydrogeological risk identifies the risk related to the instability of the slopes, due to special geological and geomorphological aspects of these, or river courses as a result of environmental conditions, weather and climatic conditions affecting the rainwater and their hydrological cycle once falls to the ground, with possible consequences sull'incolumità of the population and the safety of services and activities on a given territory. Together with seismic and volcanic risk risk is one of the major environmental risks to human activities.
